About Me

Hello and welcome! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Upside Behavioral Health in Mesa, Arizona. I work with teens and adults, offering support for a range of mental health challenges — including a specialization in Substance Use Disorders.

I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions from my Northeast Mesa office, and while I don’t see couples, families, or children under 13, I’m happy to help connect you with someone who does.

Clients — especially teens — tell me they appreciate that I’m easy to talk to and not here to judge. I’m not your parent, your teacher, or your boss. I’m a neutral party. My job is helping you figure out what’s getting in your way and what to do about it.

My thoughts on therapy

Therapy doesn’t have to be stiff or serious all the time. Sometimes you need to laugh and cry in the same session—and that’s okay. I use humor as a tool to help defuse the heavy stuff, and to remind you that even when things feel stuck, you’re still allowed to be human.

I don’t believe in telling people what to do. My approach is collaborative: I’ll offer guidance, insight, and maybe a few uncomfortable-but-useful questions, but the work—and the wins—are yours.

I draw from a mix of CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing depending on what you need. But more than any specific technique, therapy with me is about building trust, setting goals, and figuring out what real, sustainable change looks like for you.

Change is hard. But if you’re willing to show up and put in the work, I’m here to help you get there.
